Here to answer all your questions is Melissa Horger, PhD, a developmental psychologist at Temple University who researches cognitive and motor development. According to Horger, who's studied infant sleep and sleep's role on next day learning, explains that the Snoo is effectively a smart crib. It was developed by pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp to help soothe fussy babies and help them fall asleep on their own.
"The difference between a Snoo and a crib is that a crib contains your child, but a Snoo responds to your child," Horger says. "Noise and motion sensors trigger the Snoo to rock or to play white noise for your infant to soothe them."
Ask any new parent how sleep training is going and they'll probably look at you through blood shot eyes to tell you.... not great.
