This 20-Minute Yoga Flow for Beginners Is Just the Release Your Body Needs

Whether you're a yoga newbie or someone who's looking to get back into their practice after taking a break, beginner yoga flows are the perfect way to build up your confidence and comfort level with the asanas (poses). In the latest episode of Good Moves, BK Yoga Club co-founders Alicia Ferguson and Paris Alexandra have built a universally accessible 20-minute yoga flow for beginners (but really for anyone and everyone) that will help you get started or get back into your yoga groove. All you'll need is a mat, 20 uninterrupted minutes, and a deep breath.

The intention of this practice is not to push yourself into discomfort, but rather to be present. That intention is what both Alexandra and Ferguson carry the whole way through. Because this flow moves slowly, it's a great chance to focus on your form, reacquaint yourself with the basics, and really breathe into each move in order to relax and unwind your body. And if ever it feels too challenging? Simply settle back into child's pose until you're ready to move again.

This practice is so accessible because no matter where you are in your yoga journey, there is an option for you. You can do all of these poses seated, kneeling, or standing, and still reap the strengthening, opening, and twisting benefits of the flow. And the benefit of having two yogis to follow along with? While Alexandra leads you through the beginner version of the poses, Ferguson demonstrates ways to deepen the stretches for a more advanced variation of the flow.
