Well+Good TALKS: Wellness and the Latinx Community: What Work Still Needs To Be Done

Let’s talk Latinx and wellness—join industry leaders and advocates as they frankly discuss how the wellness industry has largely missed the mark when it comes to the (diverse!) Latinx community, what it means to talk about true inclusion, and what changes need to continue to make wellness and well-being attainable for all. It's time to reclaim space in the conversation.

For this W+G TALK, every dollar raised will be donated to The National Alliance for Hispanic Health, a nonprofit and nonpartisan advocacy organization that focuses on improving the health and well-being of Hispanics.

THE PANEL

Candy Calderón | Wellness + Health Diversity Advocate

A certified holistic health and wellness coach and entrepreneur with a corporate background, Candy Calderón is a highly sought-after speaker and ambassador to some of the most popular wellness brands. As a trailblazer for women's wellness, Calderón’s focus has been to create awareness and to educate minorities on how to prioritize health in order to achieve balance and success. As a Latina and woman of color, she has dedicated her career to empowering other Latinas and WOC to live up to their highest potential, and in 2017—after realizing the lack of diversity and inclusion in the wellness space—she launched Glow Wellness Tour. The first-of-its-kind, health and wellness event uniquely focused on women of color, Glow Wellness Tour answers the existential and cultural paradoxes of our times, like decolonizing our diets, body and hair positivity, mental health in communities of color, and more—all through the lens of women of color, in a safe and inspiring space.

Constanza Eliana Chinea | Founder, Embody Inclusivity

Constanza Eliana Chinea is a Latinx certified yoga instructor who has a total of 10 years of experience in the industry and over 300 hours of training in yoga, trauma, and anti-racism. She began teaching and consulting after noticing a need for diversity and representation in the industry. She now teaches yogis and entrepreneurs how to decolonize their practice, create equity for teachers of color, and build inclusive spaces in the community.

Brandie Carlos | Founder, Therapy for Latinx

Brandie Carlos is an entrepreneur, social media strategist, and mental health advocate. She has spent her career working with local businesses in Los Angeles with an emphasis in supporting businesses and organizations owned by people of color. After the loss of her best friend to suicide in 2018, she created Therapy for Latinx, the first national directory for the Latinx community. A national mental health resource for the Latinx community, Therapy for Latinx connects people to resources for our community to heal, thrive, and become advocates for their own mental health. Carlos’ dream is to open the first tech startup in East Los Angeles.
